Associate Professor Geoff Ramin 


Geoff_smallGeoff is Director of Emergency Medicine for the John Flynn Hospital.  Up until March 2010 he was the Network Director of Emergency Medicine for The Tweed and Murwillumbah District Hospitals.  He is a VMO in Intensive Care at the Tweed Hospital. He has extensive experience in pre-hospital care and medical retrieval. He is the Senior Specialist - Aeormedical and Critical Care Services for the Royal Flying Doctor Service in the Queensland sector.  He is a Regional Consultant for the Queensland Ambulance Service and a Medical Consultant to Mondial Assistance. He is the Medical Director of International Medical Systems. His passion for adventures includes mountaineering, scuba diving, hiking in the wilderness and generally getting lost. He recently returned from summiting Mont Blanc the highest peak in Western Europe.

Drew is the NRMA-ACT Road Safety Trust Chair of Road Trauma and Emergency Medicine at the Australian National University Medical School. His clinical position is Senior Staff Specialist in Emergency Medicine at The Canberra Hospital.




Dr Ogilvie Thom

Dr Ogilvie Thom is currently the Director of Emergency Medicine Research at Redcliffe Hospital in Queensland and Lead Investigator, Emergency Medicine, Queensland Critical Care Research Group. He is completing a PhD on non-invasive cardiac output monitoring, fluid resuscitation and biochemical markers of perfusion. He has a long standing interest in outdoor recreation, with annual ice climbing trips to Blue Lake, a couple of seasons in NZ's southern Alps and a year at Davis Station in Antarctica. He is currently saving his pennies in order to fulfill a life long ambition and climb Mt Vinson in Antarctica.


Dr Duncan Murray


Duncan_MurrayDuncan is currently the Director of Emergency Medicine at St Andrews War Memorial Hospital in Queensland and Medical Director of Xigent Locums. Despite these handicaps his preference remains clinical emergency medicine and the challenges it brings! His unfortunate addiction to skiing (where his skill does not match his enthusiasm) will ensure his attendance at Big Sky.



Dr Paul Bowe

Dr Paul Bowe MB BS FACEM   - Paul was educated in Dublin and completed his FACEM after moving to Australia. Paul is currently a specialist at both the Gold Coast Hospital and the Robina Hospital. He is a senior instructor with both EMST and APLS and recently has had a significant involvement in the  Clinical Skills Program at Griffith Medical School. Paul was previously ACEM State Censor for Queensland and Chair of Accreditation. He has a strong interest in medical education.
